Off on a tea trip!

Blogged under Main, News by tea_guru on Monday 22 October 2007 at 8:38 pm

We’re all excited about our upcoming trip to Asia. We are happy to take everyone in our office for a couple of weeks of fun and lots of tea taste testing.

What this means for everyone here is that we will still be taking orders but they will not ship until we get back on Nov 5th.

Why would we close the store you ask? Simple…we want to reward everyone here for their hard work and dedication over the years and it’s also a great excuse to take a trip to another country!

Enjoy your teas and we will come back with some great pictures and some new teas!

Hello tea drinkers!

It has been quite some time since there has been a post here and I want to apologize for that. It’s the summer and we’ve had our share of ups and downs here.

First the downs:
1. it’s hot.
2. our phones went down…again.
3. it’s really hot.
4. did I mention that it’s hot?
5. more time at the beach

Now the ups:
1. it’s hot which means pool time!
2. our phones are back up…again.
3. more time at the beach
4. more iced tea recipes.
5. more time at the beach

Fear not tea fans, I will do my best to maintain fun facts, recipes and more about the wonderful world of tea.

And if you have any suggestions, feel free to send them to me at info at psteas dot com and place in the subject - blog topics.

Teas in Washington

Blogged under Main by tea_guru on Thursday 31 May 2007 at 4:28 pm

I’m currently in Seattle, Washington looking to see if there are any good teas and original teas out here. i’m definitely hoping to meet with some of the other tea companies while i’m up here, but nothing has been set into stone. I must admit the weather is definitely nicer up here than the valley and its very slow paced, which is great for a cup of tea!

Iced Tea for Hot Days

Blogged under Main, Recipes by tea_guru on Tuesday 8 May 2007 at 11:02 pm

The weather has been getting a bit warmer and some places its been downright HOT. Especially in our office where it peaked today at 98 degrees.

So to cool off, we do what anyone tea drinker would do. Make iced tea! As a recap, the recipe is simple.

Brew the tea using 1/3 of the water. Let it cool down a bit then pour over ice or stick in the fridge.

Simple!

Now what happens when you have tons of tea, tons of ice, and a liquor store a block away?

No. Not long island iced tea, although that is good. But its tea margaritas on the rocks!

We made this on Cinco de Mayo for the De La Hoya / Mayweather fight and I must admit. It turned out very good.

To make, we brewed some flavored teas just like with making iced tea.

We chose Long Island Strawberry, Orange Grove Vanilla, Strawberry Kiwi and Jasmine w/ Flowers. We didnt mix these up, but had these as a base for the margaritas.

After you brew your choice of tea, be sure to chill it for a few hours.

Now all you do is add your favorite tequila and voila!

Simple. Fun. Tastea!

I’ve let this blog slip once again. We’ve been busy fixing some inventory issues and making sure the site runs smoothly as well as going to some interesting tradeshows and tasting events.

More updates will come as soon as everything settles down. In the meantime, enjoy a nice hot cuppa.

Say hello to the tea guru

Blogged under Main by tea_guru on Sunday 11 February 2007 at 11:03 pm

It’s still me. The tea guy. Well, one of the tea guys, as Bill from Tea Guy Speaks, is the other tea guy. Seeing how our friend Bill posts a lot about tea and writes some great articles, I’ve decided to change my name to the tea guru, so there is no confusion between a tea lover who is also a great writer (Bill) and a tea lover that also runs a tea company (me).

I had decided on tea guru because not only is that what I aspire to be, but it’s also because I always find myself educating others about the joys and benefits of tea, as well as converting more non-tea drinkers into tea lovers. But what’s in a name?

So go ahead and check out some of Bill’s posts and bookmark him as well…and don’t forget to also bookmark us.
